Wow Spring Semester, already?? It’s crazy to think that college on Zoom has become the new normal for me and for many other students around the world. Rolling out of bed, walking 10 steps to my desk and sitting there for hours staring at a screen. Definitely not what I thought college would be like, but nothing really ever goes the way it’s planned, right? While we hope that things return to normal sometime soon, here are a few things I like to do to prepare for a new semester, especially when it’s on Zoom:
- Organize your computer. In today’s day your computer, tablet, iPad or whatever device you use is the most important piece of the puzzle. In order to stay organized and keep track of things, I like to make a folder for each class on my desktop, therefore, it is easy to drag assignments, homework and notes into the assigned folder and it doesn’t get lost!
- Look over the syllabi and mark down important dates. Some people like to use Google Calendar, which is great, but I am old school, I love writing in my planner. I start by assigning a different color to each course in order to keep it organized and then add in all of the important dates for that class. This helps me look at what I have coming up and helps me plan to stay ahead. If you prefer to have all the dates digitally, I suggest plugging in the dates to your computer and have the app send you a reminder! This is a really helpful tool if you easily forget things!
- See what supplies you still need. When the semester end, I always seem to forget what I have and what I don’t have. So, before the new semester begins it’s always a good idea to check over what you need to get. While I usually wait a couple days to purchase my textbooks, I restock on pens, pencils and notebooks.
I have found that by doing these 3 things I get myself ahead of the game and now hopefully now you can too!
P.S. I also linked my favorite planner, some cool computer backgrounds and some fun other supplies for you to check out! All products are linked under the SHOP tab 🙂
